5 Powerful Questions to Start Your New Year
...and a surprise offer for entre-curious women willing to take a chance on themselves in 2025
New Years is my favorite time of the year - it’s time to turn the pages, start ‘fresh’ and think about what you can do to make this year MORE than the last.
As you find time to reflect on the upcoming year, and make that list of resolutions, I hope these questions remind you of the possibilities, What Ifs, and more importantly that your aspirations for the year are valid (and you deserve them!)
❔ Question 1: What is the one new skill I want to learn this year?
Growth starts outside your comfort box - whether it’s public speaking, coding, investing, or a creative hobby (mine is pottery!), choose something that excites you and aligns with different aspects of your energy. A few inspirations to get your started:
Physical (the quantity of your energy): Yoga, Pilates, Strength Training, or running every other morning for a healthier, stronger you.
Emotional (the quality of your energy): Journaling, mindful listening, or building deeper connections with loved ones.
Mental (the focus of your energy): Team management, strategic thinking, or learning a new language.
Spiritual (the force of your energy): Meditation, acts of kindness, or exploring a personal belief system that grounds you.
❔ Question 2: What do I want to be known for this year?
Think about the impact you want to have in your personal and professional life
Your Personal Brand: What qualities or values do you want people to associate with you? Kindness, resilience, creativity, or leadership?
Goals in Action: Identify one key area—professional, personal, or community—where you want to stand out. Do you want to lead an initiative, mentor someone, or develop expertise in a specific field?
Measuring Progress: How will you know you’re making strides? Define milestones or feedback mechanisms to track your journey.
❔ Question 3: Which cycles / habits do I need to break to thrive?
Take an honest inventory of what’s been holding you back. Use these steps to identify and address unproductive habits:
Step 1: Awareness: Write down recurring patterns that don’t serve you—procrastination, saying YES too much, comparing yourself to others, endless scrolling of social media, or negative self-talk.
Step 2: Replace with Positives: For each habit, brainstorm one positive replacement. For example, swap endless scrolling with a daily reading goal or an informative newsletter of your preference.
Step 3: Build Accountability: Share your goals with a friend, use habit-tracking apps, or set reminders to stay on track.
Remember, even small shifts can lead to big results over time.
❔ Question 4: What’s the ONE chance I want to take on myself?
We all have dreams or ambitions that feel just out of reach. This year, commit to taking ONE leap - whether it’s a new career, a creative project, or a bold life change.
Identify the first 3 steps you can take to get started in the first quarter of the year. For example, research, networking, educating yourself, or building a plan
Remember, entrepreneurship isn’t just about starting a business; it’s about taking charge of your future, solving problems, and building something meaningful. If you’ve ever thought about doing it, don’t wait another year to regret not trying!
❔ Question 5: What and Who do I want by my side to make this journey fulfilling?
Think about the relationships, tools, and resources that will support your growth:
Support Network: Who uplifts you and believes in your potential? Spend time nurturing these relationships.
Mentorship: Seek out mentors who can provide guidance and share their wisdom on the paths you want to explore.
Tools and Resources: Invest in systems, books, or courses that align with your goals.
Community: Join groups or forums of like-minded individuals who inspire and challenge you.
By consciously choosing your companions and tools for the journey, you’re setting yourself up for a year filled with growth and fulfillment.
Here’s to an extraordinary year ahead—you’ve got this!
